Student Eligibility

  • 18-25 (international age)
  • Permanent resident of Japan or South Korea
  • Affiliated with a undergraduate university in either South Korea or Japan
  • Have an interest in English as a global language
  • Able to complete a written application, short essay questions, and an oral interview in English
  • Have an interest in cross-cultural learning and communication, social justice, leadership, and personal and professional development

Special Consideration

  • Students with no (or limited) international travel experience
  • Students who have experienced financial stress or hardship or other life adversities
  • Students with a hometown residence outside the Tokyo/Seoul metropolitan area
  • Students attending a university located outside the Seoul/Tokyo metropolitan area
  • Students with the ability to actively and productively engage in conversations on various social topics in an immersive English environment
